Building Momentum: A New School Partnership & A Marathon for Change
Dear Friends of Buendedi,
As fall slowly creeps in, we’re preparing for the start of a new season at Buendedi too! In this issue, we update you on our progress and invite you to join us in what’s next.
Partnership in the Making: Kinshasa Primary School
We are thrilled to share that Buendedi is in the final stages of launching our first school partnership in Kinshasa. Soon, we’ll be able to disclose more details—such as the school’s name, the number of students enrolled, and the demographics of the community it serves.
To ensure this partnership starts strong, we are conducting a needs assessment to identify the school’s most urgent challenges. Early findings highlight critical areas:
- Daily nutrition: Students often lack access to consistent meals. Even a small contribution of $1.11–$5.50 per student per day could provide a nutritious meal at school. We’re exploring creative solutions, including the potential of bringing in a food truck to provide meals free of charge.
- Learning environment: Desks and benches are urgently needed to create a more dignified and effective learning space. With proper seating, students will be able to focus on what matters most—their education
This partnership is about more than logistics—it is about putting community first, listening to the voices on the ground, and designing solutions that create sustainable impact for the students of Kinshasa.
Running With Purpose: Pierre’s Marathon Journey
has laced up his running shoes for a cause bigger than himself. As part of Buendedi’s end-of-year campaign (which will run from November 6th to December 31st), Pierre is training for a marathon dedicated to the children we serve in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Every mile he runs is a reflection of the perseverance and resilience our students show each day. Just as they push through barriers to pursue their education, Pierre is pushing his physical limits to rally support and awareness.
For every dollar donated during our end-of-year campaign, Pierre will personally match your gift, doubling the impact for Buendedi’s students. Join us in any way you can—donate, spread the word, or take on a run yourself—and together let’s make this campaign a tribute to resilience and hope.
